A company does not exist apart from the people that make up that company.

VOY Construction is Barry Burgard and Paul Burgard. The two brothers have been in construction, together or separately for decades (Barry; 30 years, Paul 25).

The Burgard brothers are originally from Pennsylvania, the sons of missionaries. Paul moved to Tulsa in 1981, Barry, after several years of construction work on missionary projects in Mexico, came to Tulsa in the 1990's.

Prior to joining VOY, Paul was co-owner and manager of Renaissance Construction. Barry was a project manager for residential and commercial construction with Renaissance Construction. Barry started VOY Construction in 2009, with Paul coming on board in 2012.

Of course, VOY Construction's growth means it is now more than just Barry and Paul. Additional intrigal parts of VOY include;

Andy Obrochta has been a part of VOY Construction since its inception and brings 32 years of experience with the Army Corps of Engineers. With the COE, he oversaw remediation projects, performed construction inspection, and wrote and reviewed safety plans. Andy performs many different tasks for VOY Construction including estimating and bidding. Andy is also the company’s safety officer.

Sonia Wright is our office manager and book keeper. She joined VOY in 2015. Sonia has worked in accounting for the past 20 years with a wide variety business experience, from corporate to small business. Sonia has a strong attention to detail, great analytical skills, and is focused on providing top notch customer service.


Mike Holland has been a site superintendent with VOY Construction for the past year. He ran the dining hall remodel for Tulsa Tech, keeping the project moving through an extremely tight schedule. He is currently project manager for our Ranch Acres project. In that role, he has anticipated and resolved issues before they became problems and scheduled the work of subcontractors to keep the job moving.
